New research by the Rev. Canon Dr. Judy Rois and the Rev. Dr. Alex Faseruk proves that throughout the Anglican Communion women have a hard time reaching top episcopal jobs—even when they're technically allowed to become bishops.

We write to share greetings with you in these days when our shared thoughts and reflections are so focused upon the dramatic and sacred events surrounding the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We do so recognizing that these events took place in a real place, in the city of Jerusalem, and to express our appreciation for the long and always deepening relationship that we share with the living stones who are our Lutheran and Anglican partners in the Holy Land.

Over the course of my ministry I have been given a number of crosses. I still cherish the Celtic cross given at my consecration as a bishop in 1995. Like many other bishops around the world, I also have a Canterbury Cross. It's a sign of our common life and witness to Christ throughout the Anglican Communion.

Preaching to 2,000 people inside the cathedral and millions more watching and listening around the world, Archbishop Justin said that fear imprisons us and stops us from being fully human.

COGS members began the day with a 9:00 Eucharist where the Primate was presider and homilist. Members then each received certificates in appreciation for their work at COGS.

The Very Rev. Peter Elliott, chair of the Planning and Agenda Team, said that the schedule for the day would be fairly flexible in order to give members time to discuss and make decisions on structures. 

At 8:45, COGS members began the second day of their spring meeting with Bible study and prayer. At 9:30 they met for business.

For their spring meeting, COGS members gathered at their usual setting: Queen of Apostles Renewal Centre in Mississauga, Ont. They began their day with Bible study from 9:00 to 9:30.
